This is the most obvious piece of guest room furniture, but our list wouldn’t be complete without it!
A cozy mattress is essential for your guests, and it’s the most important guest room furniture to get right. And the best way to tell if it’s cozy for your guests? Sleep on it yourself for a couple of nights!
Have you ever stayed at someone’s house, or even an Airbnb, and woke up not feeling well rested? I’ve been there and it’s not a great experience. Having a super comfortable bed will ensure your guests never have that experience in your home!
2. Mattress Topper
If you already own a bed that you want to use in your guest room, but it’s not the comfiest – there’s an easy fix!
A mattress topper is a super easy and cheap fix to an uncomfy bed! They are literally the best thing to happen for those of us who need to improve an old bed.
I have a mattress that I wouldn’t even want to sleep on in my guest bedroom. But after I bought a mattress topper, it’s just as comfy as my bed in my primary bedroom!
3. Stylish Bed Frame
A stylish bed frame and a cozy bed go hand in hand with one another.
You need to check out these bed frames on Amazon. Seriously such a good price and they’re unbelievably adorable both in color and design.
Remember how I said you don’t need anything expensive? Amazon is a great place to find cheap bed frames and headboards – just make sure you read up on the reviews so that you’re getting something good!
4. Luggage Rack
Think about the last place you went where you packed a suitcase and had to live it out of it for the weekend. Chances are you threw the suitcase on the ground and didn’t have a designated spot for it.
A luggage rack is a very overlooked guest room furniture idea, but your guests will really appreciate it! Now all they have to do is set up their luggage on the rack, so it’s easily accessible and has a place to live during their stay.
5. Nightstands
If you have a bed, you’ve gotta have some cute nightstands to go with it.
It can be hard to find nightstands that are the perfect size and vibe for your space, but it’s essential when designing your guest bedroom layout.

When looking for guest room lamps, look for something that’s functional but not over the top. You can find amazing options at HomeGoods, but depending on their stock, Target can also be a goldmine for insanely cute lamps.
7. Dresser
Dressers make any bedroom feel complete, but when it comes to furniture ideas for your guest room, this will make all of the difference for your guests.
When your guests have access to dressers or closets, they can actually unpack their suitcases and have more of a homey experience.
8. Mirror
A piece of guest room furniture that you should definitely make room for is a mirror.
When your guests are getting ready for all of the fun events that you have planned, it’s nice to be able to get ready in the bedroom without having to drag everything into the bathroom.
Having a mirror in your guest bedroom will give your guests the luxury of having it all in one spot!

9. Laundry Hamper
For any guests that will have an extended stay, or just like to keep things clean, having a laundry basket or hamper will be the perfect addition to your guest room.
They can throw all dirty clothes in one spot, and then easily carry them all to the washer when it’s time to do some laundry.
Plus, laundry baskets are an adorable accent to the bedroom!

10. Storage Bench or Accent Chair
Not only does an accent chair or bench make for cute home decor, but they can also be functional too.
Use a bench at the bottom of the bed so that your guests have something to sit on while they get ready (like putting shoes and socks on, etc.)
An accent chair gives them a place to sit, relax, and take in all of the memories from their stay. 😉
11. Sofa
If you have the space and are going for a very relaxing kind of guest room, then a sofa in your guest room is an option you don’t want to pass up!
Sometimes your guests just need time to themselves – let’s be honest, we all do on those extended stays haha. A sofa gives them someplace other than the bed to sit and it’ll turn the room into more of a living space than just a bedroom.

12. Shelving
Of course, I had to list out the functional furniture first – but I still had to include a piece of furniture that was more decorative.
