Fall and Halloween are right around the corner. And as we highly anticipate the cozy, snuggly season, the enjoyment of decorating starts to flow.
Fall porch decor is one of the best ways to show off your love and appreciation for the season. Pumpkin patches, spooky themes, and pops of orange, red, and yellow throughout the trees.
Starting to get more excited for fall? I am! In this post, I’ll be covering 15 fall porch decor ideas that incorporate all of the above so that you get inspired and ready for fall and Halloween.
1. Colorful Pumpkin Patch Porch
This porch is bursting with fall colors!
The first fall porch decor idea incorporates just about all aspects of fall that you can think of – the colors, the pumpkins… The whole vibe is just beautifully captured on this front porch!
And the best thing of all is that it can be easily replicated. Go to your favorite pumpkin farm this season and pick out similar-colored pumpkins like orange, white, and grey. You can even find some great faux pumpkins.
Then grab a couple of orange and yellow mums. Wait for those beautiful leaves to fall and you’ve nailed the look!
2. White Pumpkins and White Mums
If you’re someone who likes to stick to the neutrals, then you’re going to find this fall front porch idea absolutely adorable!
Although it’s completely opposite from the first idea, there is something so calming, inviting, and extremely cute about this porch. If this fits your color scheme, all you need are small white pumpkins, white mums, simple wreaths, and a couple of wooden lanterns.
This modern decor style is sure to look good all season long.
3. Witch Hats
Halloween is a pretty big aspect of fall, so I had to give you a couple of Halloween front porch ideas where the spookiness starts to creep in just a little!
The way these witch hats are brought into the scene is done so tastefully and gives the porch the perfect blend between fall and Halloween. I might incorporate this idea into my own porch this year – they’re so cute!
You’ll absolutely love the little pumpkin planters in this Halloween front porch idea – adorable! You can find similar ones out this season. But you could also get your DIY hat on and turn a round planter into a pumpkin with a little bit of creativity and a little bit of paint.
How cool would it be to say that you DIY your own fall porch decorations??
4. Accent With Black
For more of a Halloween vibe, incorporate black accents into your fall front porch decor.
The black door obviously helps a lot with this idea, however, you can add in decor such as the black planters for the trees, or the bold trio of black lanterns.
The pumpkins and brown tree leaves give this porch the fall vibe, while the black accents take the mood straight into Halloween.
5. Wall Bats
You can add the clusters of pumpkins to the sides of your front door when you first decorate for fall, and then as Halloween starts to get closer, hang up the bats around your door!
It’s a really great way for adding a splash of Halloween to your front porch without getting too cheesy.
Chalk this one up for Halloween porch decor ideas! This one’s definitely more of a minimalistic look. It’s simple, and I’m all for it!
6. Buffalo Check + Cute Doormat
One piece of decor that you don’t want to forget on your front porch for any season is a cute doormat.
I get asked this question all the time, how do you find cute doormats? One of the best places to find them is on Etsy because there are SO many options. You can also have some luck at Hobby Lobby or HomeGoods.
When it comes to fall-inspired doormats, this one takes the cake. It’s funny but cute and seasonally appropriate! I actually have this same exact doormat that I put out each fall season and always get compliments.
A great pairing to your fall doormat is a buffalo check rug to go underneath it. The layered look will do so much more for your front porch than just having a single doormat. The buffalo check is great for any time of year, but it’s just one of those patterns that especially makes you think of autumn!
7. Giant Spider
Is it really Halloween without a spider thrown into the mix of fall front porch decor ideas? I don’t think so!
This is another one of those options where it’s probably best to lightly decorate with fall decor, and then as you get closer to Halloween, start adding in those spiders!
Spiders are a classic Halloween porch decor item to allow the spooky factor to start creeping in.
8. Small Pumpkin Clusters
Clustering pumpkins around your front porch is a great way to cover some ground but in a simple way!
Just get a mix of big and small pumpkins from your favorite pumpkin patch and cluster them to the sides of your front door. Orange and white pumpkins are a super cute look but you can also throw some of those more fun pumpkin colors in there!
9. Spider Web
I mentioned spiders so naturally I have to talk about spider webs too.
Spider webs are one of those favorite fall front porch decor ideas that will always be a hit around spooky season. They’re so simple to incorporate into the rest of your decor, and truly work just about anywhere within your display!
10. Create Symmetry
We’re all about being intentional here, and that’s one of the first things that comes to mind when admiring this porch!
The symmetry is unbeatable and will certainly stand out.
It really just depends on your vibe! If you want to go for more of a clean look cascading down your front porch stairs, this is it! Keep it simple, and only incorporate a few colors. But if you want more of that scattered pumpkin patch look, then you can try out one of the other Autumn porch decor ideas in this post!
11. Lights
Run some string lights through your decor to light up your fall decorations at night time! Just because it’s dark out doesn’t mean that your beautiful porch should go dark too.
Whether it’s string lights throughout your decor, wrapped around your porch pillars, or hanging from the ceiling, lights will definitely be a nice touch!
12. Giant Mums
A lot of times when you think about decorating for fall, your mind immediately goes to pumpkins and Halloween decorations.
Something that adds a lot of impact and really has your porch screaming “fall” is mums!
Mums are the perfect addition to your fall porch decor because they thrive in the fall. Plus mums come in your favorite fall colors: yellow, orange, red, or a mixture of all three.
If you want to really get in the fall spirit and turn your home into a fall wonderland, I recommend planting marigolds in your landscaping. They also will bloom through the fall and come in all of those beautiful fall colors as well! Sometimes you can even get lucky and they will grow back the following year.
13. Hay Bales
Hay bales are a fall classic. I mean, think about hay rides, and corn mazes – it completes the whole fall experience.
You can find good options for hay bales at Lowes or Home Depot during the fall season. Your local farms should also sell them – so go get some apple cider and walk away with a couple of hay bales. 🙂
Don’t forget those galvanized buckets to completely pull off this look!
14. Corn Stalks
If you want to add a little bit of height to your fall porch decor, look no further than corn stalks. The ultimate fall decor!
Incorporate a few of these throughout your porch – a popular idea is putting one on each side of your front door. You can even tie them to front porch poles if you have them!
I’ve had pretty good luck with finding these at hardware stores when in season.
I love the feeling that this idea brings – be sure to add some string lights to get that extra cozy and warm vibe!
15. Baskets
There is just something about the appearance of barrel planters that pairs perfectly with fall. They have that orchard energy to them – and when do you typically go fruit picking? The fall of course!
I found these barrel planters on Home Depot that are adorable and would complete the vibe!
These 15 ideas for decorating your porch this fall should help inspire you for your own porch.
Replicating one of these ideas completely or combining a couple of ideas together will help get your front porch ready for fall and Halloween! I can’t wait to see all of the cute fall porch decorations this upcoming season!
